Sometimes I worry about how much I identify with Holly Hunter’s character in “Broadcast News,” but then I remember that I totally would have just fallen in love with Albert Brooks because he was funnier than William Hurt and I feel better about myself.
Then I start to worry about how much I’m attracted to Albert Brooks.
UPDATE: Do you know what I think I like so much about “Broadcast News”? How irrationally angry Holly Hunter gets and it’s not cute and it’s not because she’s crazy but because that’s how she feels. And I love how these two guys are so completely in love with her and she doesn’t choose either of them — one because he’s JOURNALISTICALLY UNETHICAL — and the movie doesn’t force her to choose either of them. She gets to be the managing editor and good at her job and still get a guy at the end who works at the surgeon general’s office and likes boating.
Seriously, this movie is so good. Watch it.
